God's Plans

last modified 2011-12-07 12:31 PM

Professional growth is one way many Christian teachers seek to serve their schools and students faithfully. While educators use advanced study to better meet their current duties, these learning experiences are also God’s way of preparing them for future opportunities to serve him, his church, and their neighbors.

God has plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11), the most important of which is salvation through Jesus (Romans 8:29-30). Each of our plans were in place before the world was made, and they are meant to bless us and those we serve (Ephesians 2:10). Knowing this, we don't have to try to “discover” his plan for us – only to faithfully carry out the task he gives us each day and develop the talents and gifts he gives (Matthew 25:21).

So what are God’s plans for you, and how do your graduate studies fit into those plans? While only God knows your future, his Word reminds you to take whatever task he places in front of you, including graduate studies, and do it with all your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10), knowing that he will direct your steps (Proverbs 16:9).

Elsewhere in this newsletter is an article about new MLC adjunct, Dr. Michelle Abrego. As you read about her, notice how God has directed her life as she faithfully carries out the tasks he places in front of her, including her own graduate studies.
