Happy Holidays?

December is one of those crazy months for teachers. Christmas service preparations, party planning, special worship services, extra choir rehearsals, faculty gatherings, and the start of the basketball season add to an already full schedule. Our students get wound up as the days near Christmas. For the graduate student, final semester projects come due. Is it Christmas break yet? Help!
The empty wishes for a “happy holiday” do nothing to provide comfort to the Christian teacher, but the message of Christmas does. “He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things” (Romans 8:32 NIV)? Christmas celebrates God’s faithfulness to his promise to send a Savior from sin. This assurance of God’s love affirms his commitment to us in all our needs. Pray for God’s blessing upon your work and the gifts of patience and strength. May you in turn be a blessing and encouragement to those you serve. Merry Christmas!
