Elementary Education
The four-year elementary program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Education.
It’s true. You can study to become an elementary school teacher at hundreds of institutions. But only one college has the distinction of being the WELS College of Ministry: Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.
MLC is unique in purpose and unique in preparation. Here we will equip you to be a professional educator and—much more important—a public minister of the gospel. Upon graduation, you’ll be ready to serve the church as a teacher in one of the 350+ elementary schools in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
What Makes MLC Different ?
Here “on the hill,” you’ll experience daily chapel, religion courses, an exemplary professional education, and a culture of love and acceptance built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Your professors have all served in the public ministry in congregations and schools, and they share their experiences in their classrooms. Your fellow students are Christians with a heart for ministry, just like you. You may begin as classmates and teammates, but you end up as fellow workers in the church, brothers and sisters, and often friends for life.
