Where is the User Lookup in Pegasus Mail?

A number of users have asked where the User Lookup tool went. The User Lookup tool was the icon with the two little guys, and returned Novell-style mail addresses.

We have phased out Novell internal mail in favor of Internet e-mail. In other words, we want people to use wendtmg@mlc-wels.edu instead of wendtmg.stu.ac.mlc. To make this transition smoother, this tool has been replaced with an LDAP Directory tool.

The icon looks like this:

We like this tool better because:

• it uses the campus-wide database, so it returns the same information as the Portal directory
• it returns Internet e-mail addresses

To search, select either Surname (last name) or Given Name (first name), enter any number of letters in the search box, and click the "Query" button.
