Does the campus have wireless access?

last modified 2011-04-21 01:38 PM

Wireless access is available in public spaces.

Network Services maintains 3 wireless networks in public locations (Library, LSC, WCC Lobby and Dorm Lobbies) on campus.

  • The MLC Guest WLAN is an unsecured connection available to anyone on campus. It allows access to the internet. Ask any faculty member or the receptionist for the current password. They can access the current passwork by visiting the Network Guest Codes page on the MLC Portal. All computing devices with a web browser are supported on this network.
  • The MLC Student WLAN is a secured (encrypted) connection which requires you to log in using your Novell username and password. You will need to install the SecureW2 client (only available on campus) on your computer if you are using Windows or use the settings at the bottom of the page to connect using some Linux or Mac OS X computers. If you are using an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch), you can use our preconfigured mobile profile (only available on campus) to connect to this network. Remember, you must first connect to the MLC Guest WLAN to register your computer. This connection will give you access to the Novell network as well as the internet.
  • The MLC Academic WLAN is a secured (encrypted) connection for faculty and staff. It requires a Novell username and password to get access.
