What is the purpose of this grant?

Martin Luther College together with Thrivent for Lutherans is offering grants of up to $1000.00 to 25 qualifying early childhood teachers. The purpose of the grant is to provide financial assistance towards continuing education for early childhood teachers in WELS schools and early childhood centers.

Who is eligible to participate?

WELS teachers of young children ages 0-8 are eligible to participate.

What does the program look like?

Courses will be offered through a blended delivery method. Two weeks of on-line instruction will be followed by a third week of face-to-face instruction. Face-to-face classes will take place at LPS, MLC and other locations with sufficient enrollment. 

When does the program begin and end?

The program begins June 2006 and ends August 2010.

What if I have already taken one or more of the courses being offered?

In such cases, the grant monies will be pro-rated.

What if the locations are not convenient to me?

Additional locations will be considered for a minimum of 10 registrants.  Contact Julie Balge if you have sufficient interest for a new location.
