Baseball Loses Finale at NWC
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The MLC baseball team lost the rubber game of its weekend series at Northwestern Friday by the score of 17-1.
The Eagles took control early on, scoring five runs in the second inning, and pushing the lead to 10-1 after the fourth inning. The Eagles tacked on seven more runs in the bottom of the sixth to finish the Knights.
Joseph Blum (Bonduel, Wis./FVL) got the start and lasted three plus innings, allowing ten runs (seven earned) on 11 hits in the loss.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 4-27 overall and 4-11 in the UMAC, while Northwestern improved to 14-16 on the year and 7-7 in conference play.
MLC will return to action on Wednesday, April 28, when it travels to North Central for a double header starting at 2 p.m.
