MORRIS, Minn. - The MLC baseball team split a double header against Northland Saturday, winning game one 11-10 and losing game two 12-11 in ten innings.

Andrew Nemmers struck out 10 in a complete game win over Northland

Andrew Nemmers pitched a complete game to earn the game one win, striking out ten batters despite battling control problems throughout the game with nine walks. He improved his record to 3-1 on the season with the win.

At the plate, James Hemmelman led the way with four hits, while Jake Ziel had three hits, including a triple.

The Knights lost game two in extra innings 12-11, with Wyatt Weimer picking up the loss on the mound to drop his record to 0-1 this season. Matt Olson started the game for MLC and struck out a career high 13 batters in a no decision.

At the plate, Galen Holzhueter finished with a team-high three hits, while Nemmers, Joe Schumdlach and Aaron Stokke each added two hits.

With the split, MLC now sits at 11-9 overall and 7-5 in UMAC play. Northland moved to 13-12 overall and 7-6 in league play.

MLC will close the regular season with a double header against Bethany Lutheran at a yet to be determined date and time this week.
