Baseball Swept by CSS in Return to the Diamond

NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC baseball team's return to action after nearly three weeks after its last game due to inclement weather did not go as well as they had hoped, as the Knights lost both games of a double header to St. Scholastica by the scores of 14-4 and 15-1.

The Knights fell behind big in both games, with the Saints taking an 8-0 lead after two innings in game one, and an 11-0 lead after the second in game two.

Game one starter James Hemmelman picked up the loss for MLC after allowing eight runs (six earned) in two innings of work, while game two starter Tyler Dorn allowed 11 runs (nine earned) in two innings of work to pick up the loss in that contest.

The Saints outhit the Knights 13-8 in game one, and 15-6 in game two.

William Jensen finished with a pair of hits in game one, while Matt Olson had two hits in game two.

With the two losses, MLC dropped to 6-6 on the season and 2-2 in UMAC play, while CSS improved to 14-7 overall and 4-0 in conference action.

MLC will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, April 27), when it hosts Northwestern for a double header scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Mueller Park.
