Defense Costs Knights against LVC

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The MLC baseball team was unable to take advantage of two strong pitching performances in a pair of losses Monday to Lebanon Valley by the scores of 8-1 and 3-2 in a double header Monday night.

Joe Blum and the Knights lost two games to LVC

Joe Blum got the start on the mound for MLC and went six innings in game one, striking out four and allowing five runs (two earned) as he dropped to 0-2 on the season. Joe Schmudlach recorded the lone RBI for the Knights in the game.

In game two, Jacob Ziel went all seven innings without allowing an earned run, but errors helped LVC to push three runs across to win the game 3-2. Ziel struck out five as he dropped to 0-1 on the season.

At the plate in the second game, Greg Holzhueter finished with two hits and an RBI, while Aaron Stokke had the second RBI. Blum also added a double at the plate.

With the two losses, MLC dropped to 0-6 on the season, and will finish its seven-game Florida trip with a game against Alvernia tomorrow (Tuesday, March 7) at 9:30 a.m.
