Holzhueter Named First Team All-UMAC
ST. PAUL, Minn. - MLC baseball player Greg Holzhueter was named First Team All-UMAC Monday in a voting done by the conference coaches. Joe Schmudlach and Joe Janke were each named Honorable Mention All-UMAC.
Holzhueter started 29 of the Knights' 30 games at shortstop, leading the team in batting average (.394), runs (21), hits (39), walks (11), on-base percentage (.460) and slugging percentage (.475).
Janke was a major contributor in the field, batting .269 with 12 RBI, and on the mound, where he led the Knights in innings pitched (46.2), strikeouts (42) and wins (three).
Schmudlach was one of the top newcomers in the UMAC this season, batting .287 on the season and the Knights' starting centerfielder for most of the season.
