Knights Drop Season Opener
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The baseball team struggled with the bats and in the field in the first game of the season in a 9-1 loss to Lebanon Valley on March 5.
The Knights committed six errors on the day, including two in a five-run fifth inning by Lebanon Valley.
Bryan Scriver (Kansasville, Wis./Shoreland) got the start for the Knights and went the first four innings, allowing three runs (one earned) and five hits while striking out four.
MLC fell behind 1-0 in the first, and then gave up two runs in the fourth before LVC broke the game open with the five-run fifth off reliever Hikaru Tomizawa (Saitama, Japan/LPS), who came in relief of Scriver and pitched four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out four.
Nate Brenner (Mequon, Wis./LPS) drove home the Knights' lone run, scoring Joel Hering (Rowlett, Texas/LPS) with an RBI single.
