Saints Top Knights in Game Three
NEW ULM, Minn. – The MLC baseball team dropped its third game of its weekend series against Presentation by the score of 8-0 Friday.
The Knights fell behind in the top of the first inning 1-0, and then allowed another run in the fourth to fall behind 2-0. In the sixth inning, the Saints blew the game open with six insurance runs to put the Knights away.
Joseph Blum (FVL) got the start and picked up the loss for MLC, falling to 0-3 on the season. Blum went 5+ innings, allowing five runs (all earned) on seven hits while striking out four. Tyler Dorn (Sturtevant, Wis./Shoreland) and Christian Marquardt (Racine, Wis./Shoreland) pitched the final four innings in relief.
The Knights were outhit 13-7 for the game, with Josh Schultz (Antioch, Ill./LPS) leading the team with two hits.
With the loss, MLC fell to 0-13 overall and 0-3 in the UMAC, while Presentation improved to 4-10 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
MLC will return to action on Monday, April 5, when they travel to Central for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
