COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The MLC men's basketball team got off to a disastrous start an never recovered in a 78-42 loss at Saint John's (MN) Monday night.

Justin Danell had a team-high 12 points in a loss at SJU

The Johnnies jumped out to a 25-0 lead to start the game, holding MLC scoreless until a Justin Eternick jump shot got the Knights on the board with 11:42 to play in the first half.

SJU would cruise from there, frustrating the MLC offense by holding it to .306 shooting from the field and forcing 21 turnovers on the night.

Saint John's was also good on the offensive end, shooting .446 percent from the floor in the game and turning the ball over just five times against 24 assists.

Justin Danell was the lone MLC player in double figures with 12 points, while Galen Holzhueter had a team-high nine rebounds.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 0-8 on the season, while the Johnnies improved to 4-3.

MLC will return to action on Friday, December 16, when it hosts Wartburg for a game scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
