Holzhueter's 23 Not Enough in Loss at Crown
ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - Galen Holzhueter scored 23 points for the MLC men's basketball team, but it wasn't enough in a 74-56 loss at Crown Friday night.
The Knights held a lead midway through the first half, but the Storm rallied to finish the half to take a nine-point lead heading into the break.
The run continued in the second half for Crown, as it created fits for the MLC offense, forcing the Knights to shoot 10-35 from the field in the half. The Storm held a lead in double figures for most of the half on the way to the win.
Holzhueter finished with a team-high 23 on 9-18 shooting, but the Knights struggled from the field as a team, finishing 20-58 (34.5 percent) from the floor for the game. Holzhueter also led the team with 12 rebounds.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 2-21 overall and 2-11 in the UMAC, while Crown improved to 6-18 on the season with the win.
MLC will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, February 18), when it plays at Northwestern in the regular season finale. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
