Men Fall at Central 91-69
PELLA, Iowa - A slow start was too much to overcome for the second game in a row for the MLC men's basketball team in a 91-69 loss at Central Saturday.
The Knights fell behind by 21 points at the half after struggling with 12 turnovers and 43.5 percent shooting, while Central shot 53.8 percent from the floor and outscored MLC 15-4 from the foul line.
MLC picked up the scoring in the second half with the help of 17 points from the charity stripe, but were unable to get enough stops to get back into the game.
Central finished the game shooting 48.3 percent from the floor, and went 28-34 from the free throw line.
Nathan Bauer led the Knights with 18 points on 7-15 shooting from the floor, while Scott Henrich added eight points and six rebounds off the bench. Greg Holzhueter scored seven points off the bench.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 0-2 on the season, while Central improved to 2-1 with the win.
The Knights will return to action at St. Olaf on Monday, November 22. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
