Men Lose at Waldorf 79-58
FOREST CITY, Iowa - The MLC men's basketball team lost at Waldorf by the score of 79-58 Monday night.
The Knights started strong in a back-and-forth first half, and held a one-point lead at 25-24 with just over six minutes to play before the break. The Warriors closed the half strong, however, outscoring MLC 18-6 in the final 6:02 to take a 42-31 halftime lead.
MLC was able to cut the deficit into single digits several times early in the half on baskets by Luke Rothe and Galen Holzhueter, but was never able to get closer than nine as the Warriors built their lead over 20 points on the way to the win.
Holzhueter finished as the high-scorer for MLC with 14 points, while Justin Eternick added 13 points. Holzhueter also led the team with seven rebounds, and tied for the team lead with three assists.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 0-5 on the season, while Waldorf improved to 3-5 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Saturday, December 8, when it hosts Bethel. The game starts at 3 p.m.
