Men Picked Fifth in UMAC

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The MLC men's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the UMAC in the preseason poll done by the conference coaches. The Knights finished with 26 total points in the poll.

Coach Unke and the Knights were picked fifth in the UMAC pre-season poll

Northwestern and Minn.-Morris finished tied at the top of the poll with 45 total points and four first place votes apiece. Following them were St. Scholastica and Bethany, the two teams that played in the championship game of the conference tournament last season, with 35 and 32 points respectively.

Presentation followed MLC in sixth place with 18 total points, while Northland followed close behind with 16 points in seventh. Crown came in at the bottom of the poll with seven total points.

MLC will begin its 2009-10 season on Monday, Nov. 16, when it hosts Dubuque for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
