The Knights knew they had their hands full with the Defenders, the number 11 team in the nation in NAIA, from the tip, and Dordt jumped out to a 42-15 halftime lead thanks to 56.7 percent shooting overall and 7-13 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.

MLC played better in the second half, shooting 47.2 percent and outscoring the Defenders 41-38 in the second half, but it was too late to get back into the game.

Dordt finished the game 10-25 from beyond the arc, outscoring the Knights 30-9 from distance for the game.

Galen Holzhueter finished with 20 points to lead all scorers, and also led the Knights with six rebounds.

MLC dropped to 0-10 on the season with the loss, while Dordt improved to 15-1 with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Thursday, January 9, when they host Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
