Men Lose at UMM to Close Season
MORRIS, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team lost 3-0 at UM-Morris Wednesday in the final game of the season.
The Knights fell behind 1-0 early on an own goal in the eighth minute, but stuck around with that one-goal deficit until the 81st minute, when the Cougars scored on a penalty kick to take a 2-0 lead, and then added a third goal in the game's final minute.
UMM outshot the Knights 28-5 for the game, and held an 8-0 edge in shots on goal.
Kaleb Buch and Steve White each had two shots for MLC, while Ben Zietlow saved five of the eight shots he faced in goal.
With the loss, MLC finished the season 4-14 overall and 2-12 in the UMAC, while the Cougars improved to 10-4-2 overall and 9-2 in league play.
