Men Lose in Overtime at North Central
MINNEAPOLIS - The MLC men's soccer team saw its frustrating stretch of close losses continue in a 1-0 overtime loss at North Central Friday afternoon.
The Knights have now lost four of their last five games by one goal, with several of those losses coming on late goals by the opposition.
In this game, MLC held a slight edge in shots at 23-22, but neither team was able to score in the first 90 minutes.
The Rams' Kaleb Graham scored the game-winner with just four seconds left in the overtime, giving NCU the win.
Ross Chartrand and Stephen Roekle finished the game with five shots apiece, with two attempts from Roekle registering as shots on goal. MLC goalkeeper Eric Hahn stopped eight of the nine shots he faced.
MLC dropped to 2-13 overall and 1-10 in conference play after the loss, while NCU improved to 7-9-1 on the season and 5-7 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, October 20, when they travel to Northwestern for a 12 p.m. start.
