Men Lose to Storm
ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team lost 2-1 at Crown Saturday.
The game was balanced statistically, with the Storm edging MLC 10-8 overall in shots.
Crown jumped on top to start the game, scoring in the 31st minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
MLC would respond, as Stephen Roekle scored the equalizer in the 64th minute from Colton Berger to tie the game at 1-1.
The Storm immediately responded with a goal by Truman Shetler in the 66th minute, zapping the momentum from the MLC attack and giving the Storm the goal it needed to beat the Knights.
Roekle finished the game with two shots on goal, while Kaleb Buch and Ryan Lemke also had two shots. Eric Hahn stopped three of the five shots he faced in goal for the Knights.
The Knights fell to 2-11 overall and 1-8 in the UMAC with the loss, while Crown improved to 5-7-2 on the season with the win.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, October 16, when they travel to Bethany Lutheran for a game scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. The men will be playing the second half of the double header in this game.
