MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team stopped a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over North Central Saturday night.

Ryan Lemke scored his first goal of the season in a win over NCU


Micah Koelpin opened the scoring with his first career goal in the 33rd minute, giving the Knights the 1-0 edge heading into the half.

In the second half, Nathan Graumann tacked on the second goal in the 59th minute, and then assisted on Ryan Lemke's first goal of the season in the 73rd minute, putting the game out of reach at the final 3-0 margin.

Eric Hahn was sharp in goal, stopping all seven shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season. For the game, shots were fairly even, with MLC edging the rams 17-15 overall and 8-7 in shots on goal.

Graumann and Aaron Markgraf led MLC with four shots apiece, while Lemke added three.

With the win, MLC improved to 2-5 on the season and 1-1 in the UMAC. NCU dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in league play with the loss.

MLC will return to the pitch on Friday, September 27, when it hosts Minnesota Morris in a game scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
