Men Suffer 2-0 Defeat to NCU
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team lost to North Central by the score of 2-0 Saturday at Knight Field.
The Knights outshot the Rams 34-17 for the game, putting 14 shots on goal compared to six for NCU, but were unable to break through with a goal.
NCU jumped on top on a goal from Christian Stepaniak in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Stepaniak scored the insurance goal in the 82nd minute to give the Rams the final 2-0 margin.
Ryan Lemke finished the game with 11 shots, five of which were on goal. Kaleb Buch added nine shots, and also put five on net.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the UMAC, while NCU improved to 2-3-1 overall and 1-1 in league play.
MLC will return to action on Thursday, September 20, when it travels to Minnesota, Morris for a game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
