Men Win First of Season at Northland
ASHLAND, Wis. - The MLC men's soccer team won its first game of the season by the score of 4-0 at Northland Saturday afternoon.
The Knights dominated play offensively, outshooting the Lumberjacks 27-8 in the game, including a 15-4 edge in shots on goal.
Kaleb Buch put the Knights on the scoreboard with his first of two goals, giving him five on the season. Ben Nommensen scored to make it 2-0 at the half, while Ryan Lemke and Buch tacked on the insurance goals in the second half to help secure the win.
Ben Zietlow saved all four shots he faced to pick up his first shutout of the season.
With the win, MLC improved to 1-5 on the season and 1-1 in the UMAC, while Northland dropped to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in league play.
MLC will return to action on Thursday, September 22, when it hosts Crown at 2 p.m.
