ST. PAUL - The MLC men's tennis team opened the season with a 9-0 loss at Macalester Saturday afternoon.

Paul Koester and the Knights lost at Macalester in the season opener

The Knights lost all six singles matches in straight sets, with Ben Nommensen (6-2, 6-2) and Tom Gorzalski (6-2, 6-3) coming closest to taking a set in the three and six spots in the line-up.

In doubles, the number two team of Nommensen and William Scoggins lost 8-3, while the other two teams struggled to 8-0 and 8-1 losses.

MLC will return to the courts on Sunday, February 12, when it plays St. Mary's and Edgewood in Winona, Minn.
