Men Sweep North Central for First Win

NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC men's tennis team swept North Central 9-0 Tuesday to pick up the first win of the season.

In singles, the Knights won all six matches in straight sets. Ben Nommensen beat his opponent in number three singles 6-0 and 6-0, while Scott Henrich, Paul Koester, Russell Scoggins, Dave Marquardt and Nathaniel Jensen all joined the winner's circle.

In doubles, the Knights won all three matches by the scores of 8-4, 8-1 and 8-1.

With the win, MLC improved to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the UMAC, while North Central dropped to 0-4 on the season and 0-4 in league play.

The Knights will return to action on the courts on Wednesday, April 11, when they play Northwestern.
