Northwestern Tops MLC Men 8-1
NEW ULM, Minn. - The men's tennis team dropped its first home match of the season by a final score of 8-1.
Philip Hunter (Middleton, Wis./LPS) picked up the lone point for the Knights in the six singles spot, winning his match in three sets by the score of 7-5, 4-6 and 10-5..
Several others had tight singles matches, as Paul Koester (Milwaukee, Wis./LPS) lost in three sets after winning the first set in number three singles, while Scott Henrich (Milwaukee, Wis./LPS) lost in number one singles 7-6 and 7-5.
The Eagles took all three of the doubles matches.
MLC dropped to 1-3 on the season with the loss, while Northwestern improved to 3-10 with the win.
MLC will return to the courts on Saturday, April 10, when it hosts St. Scholastica. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
