Men Take Fourth At UMAC Championships
SUPERIOR, Wis. - The MLC men's track and field team finished fourth at the UMAC Track & Field Championships hosted by St. Scholastica Saturday.
MLC finished with a total of 64 points. UM-Morris won the event with a total of 191 points.
Andrew Loescher (Jackson, Wis./KMLHS) was the lone MLC athlete to win an event, finishing first in the Javelin Throw with a throw of 49.66 meters. He also finished second in the Shot Put.
Three other MLC athletes scored points in at least two individual events: Jacob Steinmetz (Watertown, S.D./GPLHS), Nathan Loersch (Watertown, Wis./LPS and Philip Loescher (Jackson, Wis./KMLHS).
Steinmetz finished fourth in the Triple Jump, and fifth in the 200 Meter Dash, 400 Meter Dash, and Long Jump, while Philip Loescher finished third in the Javelin Throw and fourth in the Discus Throw. Loersch finished second in the 1500 Meter Run, and fifth in the 800 Meter Run.
Loren Milbrath (Owosso, Mich./MLS) finished fourth in the 5000 Mile Run, while Ben Zietlow (Montello, Wis./GPLHS), Mark Waldschmidt and Jason Liebnow (Washington, Mich./Romeo HS) each had fifth place finishes in the Javelin Throw, High Jump and Pole Vault, respectively.
