Babinec Named Player of the Week a Second Time
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Erica Babinec (Onalaska, Wis./Luther) was named UMAC Player of the Week in women's basketball for her play in leading the Knights to a 3-0 record last week.
Babinec averaged 13.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the three games, despite playing limited minutes in blowout wins against North Central and Crown.
Babinec saved her best performance for last, scoring 27 points, grabbing ten rebounds and adding six assists in MLC's 71-61 upset win at Northwestern on Saturday.
The women's basketball team is currently tied for fourth place in the UMAC with a conference record of 4-6, and an overall record of 8-12. The Knights will return to action on Friday, Feb. 12, when they play host to UM-Morris for a 5:30 tip.
