ST. PAUL, Minn. - MLC guard Erica Babinec was named UMAC Player of the Week in women's basketball for her play in helping MLC to a 2-1 record last week.

Erica Babinec was named UMAC Player of the Week

Babinec averaged 23.7 points per game, shooting 66.7 percent from the field (32-48). She scored at least 20 points in all three games, and also averaged 7.3 rebounds per game.

Babinec also reached a career milestone, scoring the 1,000th point of her career in MLC's 69-59 win over Bethany on February 1, becoming only the second women's player ever at MLC to do so.

For the season, Babinec is averaging a team-high 17.7 points per game, and is averaging 20.3 points per game in conference play.

MLC will return to the court on Friday, February 11, when it hosts St. Scholastica for a 5:30 p.m. double header of men's and women's basketball.
