Hot Outside Shooting Takes Down MLC

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The MLC women's basketball team ran into a hot shooting Buena Vista team in an 87-69 loss Monday.

BV went 12-21 from beyond the three-point arc in the game, while MLC shot 2-11 from distance in the game. Overall, Beavers shot 45.6 percent from the field, while MLC shot 31.9 percent.

Buena Vista took control of the game late in the first half, breaking open a 22-20 game with an 11-2 run to help take a nine-point lead into the half at 40-31.

The Beavers were able to continue to build the lead in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points around the ten-minute mark on the way to the win.

Erica Babinec led MLC with 22 points on 7-17 shooting, while Amanda Burk had her third straight double-double to start the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Alex Anthon came off the bench to score ten points.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 1-2 on the season, while Buena Vista improved to 3-1 with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Monday, November 28 , when they host Waldorf in a game scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
