Erica Babinec had 27 points in MLC's win over Viterbo

The game was back and forth throughout, with 17 ties and 15 lead changes, but the Knights were able to hold off a final rally by Viterbo in the final minute, and watched a last second desperation three-point attempt by the V-Hawks miss off the rim as time expired.

MLC shot the ball well from the field and from the foul line, shooting 25-53 (47.2 percent) from the floor for the game, and making 18 of 22 attempts from the charity stripe. Viterbo shot 35.9 percent from the field, but was able to stay in the game with ten three-point field goals in the game, eight of which came in the second half.

Erica Babinec was the top performer throughout for the Knights, leading the way with 27 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Alex Anthon joined her in double figures with a career-high 17 points on 6-7 shooting from the floor and making all five attempts from the foul line in her first career start. The two players also made an impact on the defensive end with five and three steals, respectively.

With the win, MLC improved to 3-2 on the season, while Viterbo dropped to 1-5.

The Knights will return to action Friday, December 2, when they travel to Mayville State for a game scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
