RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The MLC women's basketball team struggled offensively in a 68-34 season-opening loss at UW-River Falls in a match-up of two teams who reached the NCAA Tournament last season.

MLC struggled from the start offensively, but hung around for much of the first half on the strength of its defense and rebounding. The Knights outrebounded the Falcons 28-18 in the first half and had 15 offensive rebounds, but 18 turnovers in the half helped the Falcons build a 37-19 halftime lead.
UW-River Falls continued to pressure the Knights in the second half, building a big lead as MLC couldn't get any shots to drop on the way to the win.
