Knights Lose Late to CSS
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's soccer team held conference-leading St. Scholastica scoreless until the 88th minute of play in a 1-0 loss Saturday.
The Knights were outshot 24-2 in the game, but kept the Saints from getting too much pressure throughout the game, holding CSS to eight shots on goal.
The game remained tied at 0-0 until Casey Mitchell scored on a deflected shot with just over two minutes to play to give the Saints the win.
Bethany Schultz had both shots for MLC, one of which went on goal, while the other hit the post in the fifth minute of play on the Knights' best scoring chance of the day.
Allison Snyder saved seven of the eight shots she faced in goal for MLC.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 8-7-1 overall and 4-6-1 in the UMAC, while CSS improved to 11-4-1 on the season and 9-0-1 in league play.
MLC will close the season on Wednesday, Octboer 26, when it travels to UM-Morris.
