NEW ULM, Minn. - Hannah Mattek of the MLC women's soccer team scored in the final minute to beat Crown 2-1 at Knight Field Saturday.

Hannah Mattek scored the game winner to beat Crown Saturday

The Knights dominated play for much of the game, outshooting the Storm 48-13, but trailed early in the second half 1-0.

Carina Rahn tied the game in the 62nd minute with her first career goal off a pass from Bethany Schultz, and then Mattek came through with the winner unassisted with just 54 seconds to play in the game. The goal was the third of the season for Mattek.

Mattek finished the game with 15 shots (five on goal), and Schultz added ten shots for MLC.

Katelyn Malley went the distance in goal for MLC, saving seven of the eight shots she faced.

With the win, MLC improved to 3-5 on the season and 2-2 in the UMAC. Crown dropped to 2-5-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.

MLC will return to action on Friday, September 28, when it travels to Northland for a game scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
