Schultz Named First Team All-UMAC
ST. PAUL - Junior midfielder Bethany Schultz was named First Team All-UMAC in women's soccer Tuesday. Teammates Alydia Lee, Lauren Maertz and Hannah Mattek each received honorable mention.
Schultz received First Team All-UMAC recognition for the second time in her career, having also received that honor after her freshman season back in 2010. She was named Second Team All-UMAC in 2011 as a sophomore.
Schultz finished the season as the team leader in assists (six), shots (78) and shots on goal (42). She also tied for the team lead in points (20), and finished second in goals (seven).
Lee started 17 games on defense, leading that unit and also contributing on the offensive end with two goals this season.
Maertz led the team with ten goals (eight of which came in UMAC play), and tied for the team lead with 20 points.
Mattek finished the season third on the team in goals (six) and point (15). She also tied for second in assists (three), and led the team in game-winning goals (four).
The Knights also received a team honor, winning the Team Sportsmanship Award in the conference. Emily Marggraf was named the MLC winner of the individual sportsmanship award.
