Women Fall 3-1 at Northland

ASHLAND, Wis. - The MLC women's soccer team lost 3-1 in Friday at Northland.

Heidi Wilz and the Knights lost 3-1 at Northland Friday

The Knights fell behind early 1-0, but Hannah Mattek tied it up at 1-1 heading into the half with her sixth goal of the season.

The Lumberjills would take control in the second half, however, scoring once in the 56th minute and again in the 70th to get the 3-1 win.

The two teams were even matched statistically, which both teams finishing with seven total shots, and Northland edging MLC in shots on net at 6-5.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 7-8-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the UMAC, while Northland improved to 6-10 on the season and 5-6 in conference action.

The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, October 23) when they travel to St. Scholastica for a match scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
