Women Unable to Generate Offense in Loss
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's soccer team was outshot 17-6 in a 4-0 loss Saturday to UM-Morris.
The Cougars jumped on top in the 14th minute on a penalty kick goal by Ally Heida after a hands in the box call to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
UMM scored once more in the first half to take a two-goal edge heading into the break, and then tacked on two insurance goals in the second half to ice the game away.
Hannah Mattek and Bethany Schultz each had two shots for MLC to lead the team.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 5-4 on the season and 2-3 in the UMAC, while the Cougars improved to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in league play.
MLC will return to action Tuesday, October 4, when it travels to North Central for a game starting at 6 p.m.
