ST. PAUL - MLC senior softball player Sarah Free was named First Team All-UMAC by the conference coaches Monday, while sophomore outfielder Madeline Scott was named Honorable Mention All-UMAC.

Sarah Free was named First Team All-UMAC

Free, who received honorable mention the last two seasons, led the team in batting average (.408), runs scored (28), hits (42) and doubles (nine) on the season. Free's senior season was a strong finish to a career that left a mark on the school's record books, as she leaves as MLC's all-time leader in hits (165) and doubles (42), and ranks second all-time in RBI (95), runs scored (111) and batting average (.383).

Scott was a leader offensively during conference play, leading the team in batting average (.377), stolen bases (seven) and hits (26) during the 21 UMAC contests. For the season, she batted .373 with 15 stolen bases, 23 runs scored and 38 hits.

Jessica Henning was the MLC recipient of the Sportsmanship Award, which goes to a player from each team who best exemplified sportsmanship throughout the season.
