Knights Drop Pair at Augustana
MOLINE, Ill. - The MLC softball team was swept on day two of the tournament hosted by Augustana University, losing 8-0 to Wartburg and 8-0 to Augustana Sunday afternoon.
WARTBURG 8, MLC 0
The Knights were able to muster five hits in an 8-0 loss to Wartburg in game one.
Laura Miller got the start on the mound and dropped to 1-3 on the season with the loss. She allowed six hits and walked five, while striking out two.
Katie Kretsch was the leading hitter for the Knights, finishing 2-2 for the game. Megan Zamzow, Stephanie Punke and Elizabeth Henke each had one hit.
AUGUSTANA 8, MLC 0
The Knights weren't able to get much going in game two, losing 8-0 to Augustana.
Sarah Free pitched for MLC, and dropped to 2-4 on the season with the loss.
At the plate, Andrea Biedenbender finished with two hits.
With the two losses, MLC dropped to 3-7 on the season. The Knights look to return to the field on Saturday, April 2, when it is scheduled to host North Central for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
