Knights Win Two at NCU Tourney
PLYMOUTH, Minn. - The MLC softball team came back from a season opening loss to Presentation with wins against Maranatha and North Central in a triple header at the Plymouth Creek Dome Thursday.

The Knights got big hits from several girls in the line-up, with both Katie Kretsch and Amanda Fogle hitting home runs, but the Saints were able to score three times in extra innings to take the first game of the season 7-4 from the Knights.
The Knights hammered out 19 hits in a 17-4 win over Maranatha.
Sarah Free led off the game with a home run at the plate, and also picked up the win on the mound, going five innings and allowing four runs (all earned) on eight hits while striking out three.
Kretsch also homered in the game for the Knights, while Amber Krause finished with four hits and three RBI. Karla Opperman and Megan Zamzow each had two RBI.
The Knights jumped on top of North Central with two runs in the first inning, and then put the game away with seven runs in the fourth on the way to a 12-3 win over the Rams.
Free hit her second home run of the day in the game, while Andrea Biedenbender finished with three RBI. Madeline Scott finished with a team-best four hits for the Knights.
Laura Miller went five innings on the mound to pick up the win for MLC, striking out six and not walking anyone.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Friday, March 18), when they play a second triple header at the Plymouth Creek Dome. Game one will be against Maranatha, and will begin at 9 a.m.
