MLC Beats Bethany 6-3

NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's tennis team secured at least a tie for second place in the UMAC with a 6-3 win over Bethany Monday.

Rachel Niemi and the Knights beat BLC 6-3


The Knights took the first and third doubles matches, as the team of Rachel Niemi and Karina Luthra won the number one doubles match 8-6, and the team of Lauren Gross and Michelle Hintz won their number three match 8-2.

In singles, MLC got a win from Niemi in the number one spot, and then from Hannah Janke, Heidi Heckmann and Michelle Hintz in the bottom three spots to secure the win.

With the win, MLC finished the regular season 7-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play. The Knights are currently second in the conference to regular season league champion St. Scholastica, with Northwestern in third place at 6-3 with one match to go.

The Knights will return to action this weekend at the UMAC Championships.
