MLC Women Lose Two Saturday

NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's tennis team lost a pair of matches Saturday. The Knights lost 9-0 to St. Schoalstica in the morning, and then 7-2 to Bemidji State Saturday night.

The Knights lost all nine matches against CSS, losing the six singles matches in straight sets and the three doubles matches by the scores of 8-0, 8-0 and 8-4.

In the match against Bemidji State held at Vogel, the Knights took the third doubles match 9-8, with Charis Goelzer and Melissa Stibb teaming up to get the win. MLC lost the other doubles matches.

In singles, the Knights one won of the six matches, with Goelzer picking up the win in number five singles thanks to a BSU forfeit.

MLC dropped to 1-4 on the season and 1-1 in the UMAC with the two losses. The Knights will return to action on Monday, April 8, at Bethany Lutheran.
