MLC finished with 11 points in the poll, one ahead of fifth-place Bethany Lutheran and five behind third place Minnesota-Morris. St. Scholastica and Northwestern tied for first in the poll with 23 total points and three first place votes apiece.

The Knights will look for improvement from last season's 2-12 season, with five of the team's six top singles performers returning from last season.

Jackie Keller returns in the top singles spot after playing there all 14 matches last season as a sophomore, while Carissa Kock and Holly Marquardt each return in the numbers two and three positions. Melissa Stibb and Charis Goelzer combined to play in 22 singles matches a season ago, and figure to find a spot in the second half of the line-up again this season.

Newcomer Elizabeth Broring figures to get a chance early at a spot in singles competition, while Mateja Epple returns as depth in both singles and doubles.
