Women Drop Match to Saints
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's tennis team was unable to register a point in a 9-0 loss to defending conference champion St. Scholastica Saturday.
The Knights lost the three doubles matches 8-1, 8-0 and 8-2, and then dropped each singles match in straight sets.
Hannah Janke came closest to winning a set, losing 5-7 and 6-0 in her number five singles match. Heidi Heckmann came back from losing the first set in her number six singles match 2-6 to lead the second set 3-2 before not being able to finish, resulting in a win for the Saints.
MLC dropped to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the UMAC with the loss, while St. Scholastica improved to 12-4 overall and 2-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to the courts on Tuesday, April 5, when it travels to North Central for a match scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
