Women Fall at CSS 8-1
DULUTH, Minn. - The MLC women's tennis team took one singles match and forced a third set in another, but were unable to take down conference-leading St. Scholastica in an 8-1 loss Saturday.
Meredith Koltz picked up a three-set win in singles competition, winning her number four singles match 3-6, 6-4, and 10-8. Hannah Janke took her number five singles match to a third set, but lost the tie-breaker 10-4.
In doubles, CSS swept the Knights by the scores of 8-0, 8-0 and 8-2.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the UMAC, while St. Scholastica improved to 16-4 on the season and 6-0 in league play.
MLC will return to the courts on Tuesday, April 19, when it travels to Northwestern for a match scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
