Women Lose at Northwestern

ST. PAUL - The MLC women's tennis team lost 9-0 at Northwestern Wednesday in a match held at Lifetime Fitness Center.

Leslie Klinski and the Knights lost 9-0 at NWC

The Knights were swept in doubles by the scores of 8-3, 8-4 and 8-1, with the team of Leslie Klinski and Heidi Heckmann coming closest to a win in number two doubles.

In singles, all six players for MLC lost in straight sets. Klinski lost her match in number three singles 7-5 and 6-3, and came the closest to taking a set.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the UMAC, while Northwestern improved to 8-8 on the season and 6-0 in league play.

MLC will return to action on Saturday, April 14, when it travels to UM-Morris for a match scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
