MLC Women Compete at Gustavus
ST. PETER, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's track team participated in the Drake Alternative event hosted by Gustavus on Saturday, and came away with several high finishes at the event.
Emilee Koltz was the top finisher for MLC, taking home third place with a school-record time of 19:10.58 in the 5000 Meter Run. The record time was nearly 20 seconds faster than the previous top time, set by Koltz earlier this season.
Hannah Hackbarth also finished in the top ten in her event, taking eighth in the 3000 Meter steeplechase with a time of 12:48.77.
Elsewhere in the running events, Sarah Hackbarth and Lindsay Hughes finished 18th and 19th, respectively, in the 400 Meter Run.
In the loaded field events, the Knights scored a pair of top 20 finishes in the Javelin Throw, as Katie Wilson and Beth Murry took 18th and 20th, respectively.
MLC will return to action on Wednesday, April 30, when it travels to St. Thomas for a meet scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
