Knights Finish Regular Season with Pair of Wins
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team won two games Saturday against Presentation and Waldorf to close the regular season with a five-game win streak.
MLC beat Presentation in four games by the scores of 25-11, 25-27, 25-16 and 27-26.
The Knights hit .288 for the match, with Becca Engelbrecht and Katelyn Hauf each hitting better than .400 for the match. Engelbrecht led the team with 15 kills, while Hauf added ten. Emily Boldt finished with 12 kills and six blocks.
Alex Anthon led the back row defense with 15 digs, while Engelbrecht and Jennifer Draeger each had 14. Miranda Maasz added eight digs along with her 37 assists on the day.
With the win, MLC closed out the conference season at 10-4, good for third place in the UMAC.
The Knights beat Waldorf in three straight competitive games by the scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-19.
The Knights were able to get a number of players good experience in the match, with every playing at least two games.
Heather Danell led the Knights with 11 kills, while Rachel Hein added ten kills and his .500 for the match.
Draeger led MLC with 14 digs, while Maasz had 35 assists, nine digs and two service aces.
With the wins, MLC finished the regular season at 18-12 overall, and will next play in round one of the UMAC Postseason Tournament. The Knights will travel to Northwestern to play the second seeded Eagles on Wednesday, November 2, in a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
